Institute for Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP, President Hong Jin-bae) successfully concluded the "2024 2nd Tech and Future Insight Concert (2024 IITP Tech & Future Insight Concert - SDx)" held at El Tower 6th Floor Grace Hall in Yangjae-dong, Seoul on September 3. This event, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by IITP, was conducted in 2 sessions of expert lectures and discussion sessions on "Technology Status and Development Prospects of SDx (Software-Defined Everything)" and "The Future Defined by SW, SDx." SDx (Software-Defined Everything) concept: the movement from hardware-defined systems to software-controlled systems where the same hardware can be reprogrammed to perform different functions through software updates; examples include SDN (Software-Defined Networking), SDS (Software-Defined Storage), and SDDC (Software-Defined Data Center); the broader SDx vision is that software increasingly defines and controls all infrastructure including compute, network, storage, and security; AI is the key accelerator making SDx practical by enabling automated optimization of software-defined systems based on real-time conditions.
