Metaverse Introduced for New Owner Education Since Last May
6 Months of Development and Testing
Industry-First Metaverse Education System Built This May

Emart24 has been operating metaverse-based new franchise owner education since last May. The company converted the theoretical portion of its 6-day new owner training program (2 days theoretical, 4 days on-site practical) to metaverse format — the industry's first metaverse education system built after approximately 6 months of development and testing. The virtual space faithfully replicates Emart24's actual headquarters training center, organized into four themes: theoretical classroom, practical training area, promotional zone, and discussion zone.

Owners access the virtual training space on mobile or PC through the metaverse platform "ZEP" via a pre-provided link. Theoretical classroom covers POS usage, convenience store operations/ordering/delivery, legal/tax education, and store hygiene and safety management. Owners can communicate with other owners in the discussion zone via personal chat, voice, and video chat using their avatars; an administrator in "Wondungi" character form provides real-time chat support (staffed 10AM-5PM). Satisfaction survey of participants (May 4 - June 2) recorded an average 4.7 out of 5 stars. Top satisfaction factors: "convenience" (45%), "unlimited content replay" (35%), "interest." COVID-19 drove the initiative — following forced shift to online video education during the pandemic, owner and staff preferences for non-face-to-face education were incorporated in developing the metaverse system, judged to combine the advantages of both face-to-face and non-face-to-face education.
