Professor Im Chang-joo of the Department of Game Engineering at Korea University of Technology and Education has been designated as the 7th President of Siheung Industrial Promotion Institute, a foundation under Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province. According to the institute, Professor Im was unanimously selected via board written resolution on the 7th and will be formally appointed following a Siheung City Council confirmation hearing this month, barring any disqualifying circumstances. Professor Im holds a BS and PhD in Industrial Systems Engineering from KAIST and has served as senior researcher at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and Planning (KISTEP), postdoctoral researcher at Pennsylvania State University's Computer Science Department, CEO of Media Interactive, and principal researcher at Hanson Technology Research Institute.
