Hanwha Aerospace Receives World-Class ''DNV'' Certification
Global Recognition for World-Class Safety and Performance
Expanding ''Carbon-Free Power'' Following ''Immersion Cooling ESS''
Continuing Technology Competitiveness with Hanwha Ocean

Hanwha Aerospace has obtained world-class certification for its "200kW marine hydrogen fuel cell" and will enter the eco-friendly carbon-free vessel market in earnest. Together with the world's first immersion cooling energy storage system (ESS) developed in late last year, the company has secured back-to-back world-class carbon-free power solutions.

Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 13th that it received AIP (Approval In Principle) certification from DNV, the world's leading classification society, on the 12th. AIP verifies the safety and international regulatory compliance of new technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells from the basic design stage for vessel construction.

Following last year's KR (Korean Register) AIP certification, Hanwha Aerospace has now secured the world-class DNV certification, enabling full-scale sales of marine hydrogen fuel cells in the global market. The DNV-certified fuel cell is a Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC), capable of power generation at low temperatures, making it stable and energy-efficient — ideal for marine and other transportation applications. Parallel control functionality also enables MW-scale capacity expansion for medium and large vessels.
