Woongjin ThinkBig announced on the 2nd the official launch of "Lingo City," a metaverse English speaking service. Lingo City applies generative AI ChatGPT to a metaverse platform for English speaking content, enabling users to travel realistically implemented world cities including New York, London, and Sydney while experiencing 72 professions through NPC interaction to improve speaking skills. Developed as part of the national project "Metaverse Leading Project" support program with broadcasting and communications development funds from the Ministry of Science and ICT. Developed with advisory from Professor Kim Sang-gyun of Kyung Hee University Graduate School of Management (cognitive science PhD, metaverse specialist), the service is accessible after joining "Woongjin SmartAll," Woongjin ThinkBig's all-subject AI learning platform. Structured for elementary students to naturally master the full English curriculum through 20-minute daily assignments (PLAN), with supplementary printed textbooks for combined digital/offline learning. To mark the official launch, an interview video with Professor Kim and the development team is available on the official YouTube channel, along with a Q&A event (through the 10th) where education experts respond to parenting questions about English study.
