Lotte Innovate announced the global grand opening of its ultra-realistic metaverse "Calibus" at 2PM on the 29th. Built on Unreal Engine 5 (a real-time 3D creation tool), Calibus is an ultra-realistic metaverse fusing realistic graphics with high-definition live-action VR, supporting massive simultaneous connection (MMO) across PC, VR devices, 3D displays, and mobile platforms. Avatar customization offers 200+ variations across appearance, body type, and other elements. Extreme realism is achieved through light reflection variation by viewing angle, dynamic shadow direction changes, and day/night cycle implementation.
Origin City — approximately 6x larger than the CES 2024 debut version at 1.33 million pyeong (~34x Lotte World Jamsil) — features 30+ major locations with taxi stops for user convenience. Three districts: Central District (brand experience zones, including Korea Seven, Lotte Himart, Lotte Duty Free for shopping); East District (entertainment and fashion, avatar accessories); West District (UGC Town for user content creation). Entertainment highlights: concert venue for 80,000 audience with realistic sound for JYP NMIXX and EDM DJ ARLOCK's next-generation virtual performances; MBC partnership for K-POP performances; exclusive partnership with global EDM festival "Tomorrowland" for Tomorrowland Planet (launch planned). World-first UGQ (User Generated Quest) feature enables users to create quests and reward other users for completion. Language support: Korean, English, Japanese (expansion planned). Access via Calibus official website.
