South Jeolla Gangjin County announced on the 4th that it conducted metaverse road name address education for 3rd-4th grade elementary school students in the county from September 25 to 30. This education was conducted using "Geniverse," a metaverse platform-based digital textbook developed to effectively understand and learn road name address content, starting at Jakcheon Elementary School and continuing at Maryang Elementary School and Gangjin Dong Elementary School computer labs. "Geniverse" was jointly developed by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and KT -- designed for elementary student-customized education to directly build cities in a virtual space and easily understand the road name address system. The coordination between Ministry of the Interior and Safety (which administers road name addresses) and KT (which provides digital infrastructure) represents a model of government-corporate partnership for digital education; KT benefits from demonstrating social contribution and building familiarity with its digital services among the next generation; the Ministry benefits from achieving its address system adoption objectives through an engaging educational medium that traditional instruction cannot match.
