Busan Institute of IT (BIIT) announced operation of a "Korea XR·Metaverse Joint Pavilion" at the 2024 Thailand National Science and Technology Exhibition (August 16-25, Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, Thailand) — part of the "Korea-ASEAN ICT Convergence Village Construction and Operation" project. The exhibition, co-hosted by Thailand's Ministry of Higher Education Science Research and Innovation and National Science Museum, features 39 overseas agencies from 9 countries and 47 Thai government agencies — Thailand's largest science and technology exhibition. The Korea-ASEAN project has operated since 2020 with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT, Busan Metropolitan City, and BIIT to expand Korea-ASEAN ICT exchange and support ASEAN market entry for metaverse content. This pavilion participation builds on the collaboration with Thailand's National Science Museum formed through last year's "K-XR Museum" demonstration project at Bangkok National Museum. Five regional metaverse support centers including Busan jointly operate the Korea pavilion.

Participating companies (10 XR·metaverse companies): Iconic Movement, EduMeta, Studio Meta K, YST, Remoshot, ShareBox, NewZak, SmartCube, TopCore System, Art&Meta — showcasing technologies and content in digital twins, virtual humans, training/education VR, and tourism immersive media. BIIT aims to create actual business results by supporting overseas market entry for regional companies.
