Sogang University and Seoul Business Agency (SBA) are taking steps to activate the XR-metaverse industrial ecosystem. Sogang University announced on the 26th that it signed a "Joint Cooperation MOU for XR-Metaverse Industry Ecosystem Activation" with Seoul Business Agency (SBA). Through this MOU, Sogang University and SBA will jointly discover and support cooperation for XR-metaverse related joint R&D tasks, joint project support, and technology cooperation connection, along with XR-metaverse industry demand-based curriculum research and development cooperation support, DMC (Digital Media City) worker curriculum operation cooperation, and professional talent cultivation and exchange. The Sogang University-SBA partnership significance: Sogang University Graduate School of Metaverse has emerged as Korea leading academic institution for metaverse research and talent development; SBA manages Seoul Digital Media City (Digital Media City) where many XR and media technology companies are located; the combination of academic research (Sogang) and industry cluster management (SBA DMC) creates a pipeline from research to commercialization; the DMC worker education program specifically trains people already employed in the industry, keeping their skills current with the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
