Seongnam City Hanmaeum Welfare Center announced that "Art Class" developmental disability artists Kim Tae-young, Song Jin-hyeon, Hwang Jin-ho, and seven others will participate in the 2025 Seongnam Disability Artists Group Exhibition "This Ability: Another Capability." The exhibition was planned in cooperation with Seongnam Cultural Foundation to support artwork activities of artists with disabilities active in Seongnam, activate the creative ecosystem, expand cultural diversity, and help overcome social prejudice. True to the exhibition theme, the focus is on the unique Ability of individual artists with disabilities rather than viewing their work through the lens of "overcoming" limitations.
Participating artists: Kim Tae-young (pure, simple expressions conveying comfort and stability); Song Jin-hyeon (communicates with the world through paintings rather than words and speech); Hwang Jin-ho (expresses unique order through vivid colors and organized lines). The exhibition runs March 14 through April 23 at Gallery808 Exhibition Room 1, Seongnam Arts Center, from 10 AM to 6 PM daily (closed Mondays), free admission. Welfare Center Director Heo Yeong-mi: "We will work toward creating a society where everyone lives together and continue providing participation opportunities to support individual artistic expression by people with disabilities."
