Daegu Metropolitan City Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eun-hee) announced on the 24th the opening of the "Daegu Artificial Intelligence Education Center" to build a new educational environment aligned with the AI era and formally launch future talent development. The "Daegu AI Education Center" is established utilizing the building of the closed (former) Sindang Middle School (Dalseoggu, Seodang-ro 30), focusing on self-directed and individualized education implemented through SW-AI, operating advanced AI and digital education space running AI-based school-level convergence customized programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Design and space configuration were completed from March to December last year, and following 2 months of pilot operation targeting students and teachers this year, all preparations for March opening were completed. From March 4 (Tuesday), programs for students will operate including AI basic literacy, coding and programming, AI ethics education, and AI creative project courses. The center is designed to serve 10,000+ students annually across all school levels, with teacher professional development programs running in parallel to build educator AI competency across Daegu schools.
