Google Launches AI Styling App "Doppl"

Google unveiled new style simulation app Doppl through AI lab "Google Labs." The app provides an experience of "virtually wearing" clothes using photos or screenshots uploaded by users, converting static images to AI-based videos to visually experience clothing fit and movement. Doppl builds on Google Shopping "Virtual Try-On" technology announced in May -- extending from product pages to a standalone app experience. The technical architecture: generative AI models trained on diverse body types and clothing materials simulate how fabric drapes, moves, and fits; the video conversion shows how clothes move during walking, which static try-on cannot demonstrate; the personalization element allows saving preferred styles and discovering coordinated outfit suggestions.
