SSG.com announced on the 21st that analysis of 10-day Busan area dawn delivery order data from the 7th to 16th of this month showed non-food items were included in 45% of all orders. The most ordered category was daily necessities, with paper products and detergent orders being high. Particularly, bundled and large-capacity products such as 30-roll tissue and 2.5L-4L large detergent were popular. Body care products such as body lotion also ranked high in sales. Demand for living products was also high -- disposable goods, wrap, and sanitary bags ranked high in sales, with 40-50 cup paper cups and 300-400 sheet sanitary bags selling well; frying pans and tableware were also popular purchases. Additionally, customers are also ordering pet food, mats, children toys, camping goods, and sports equipment through dawn delivery. The data significance: the high non-food share in dawn delivery baskets demonstrates that Korean consumers are using dawn delivery as a general convenience service (not just for fresh groceries as originally designed); the bundled large-capacity purchases suggest consumers are using dawn delivery for planned stock-up shopping rather than just urgent needs; this broadens the value proposition and increases average order value.
