Samsung Display will showcase a large number of new IT device and automotive OLED products -- the new growth drivers of the OLED industry -- at CES 2025. Samsung Display announced on the 5th that it will hold an exhibition for customers centered on tablet, laptop, monitor, and automotive OLED products at CES 2025 in Las Vegas from January 7 to 10 (local time). Samsung Display will unveil an 18.1-inch foldable product for the first time (the size of a small monitor when unfolded), along with various slidable products, and multi-foldable products that fold more than twice. Automotive OLED innovations: UPC (Under Panel Camera) hiding the camera beneath the display surface for a cleaner dashboard aesthetic while maintaining driver monitoring capability; Bendable CID (Center Information Display) that curves to match dashboard contours rather than being a flat panel inserted into a curved space; instrument cluster replacement OLED reducing weight and enabling flexible instrument display reconfiguration. The 18.1-inch foldable significance: current premium foldable phones (Galaxy Z Fold, Pixel Fold) fold to 7-8 inch tablets; an 18.1-inch foldable would unfold to laptop-replacement size while collapsing to a more portable form factor; this is the form factor that could eventually make dedicated laptops optional for many users; the technology challenge is maintaining display quality and durability through hundreds of thousands of fold cycles at this larger size.
