IBK Industrial Bank (Bank President Kim Seong-tae) announced on the 13th that it signed an MOU with Dcamp (bank sector youth startup foundation) and will pursue "Startup WM" for youth startup asset management support. "Startup WM" is a program providing systematic and professional asset management consulting for youth startups from the initial stage of business at 20 WM centers (wealth management specialized branches) nationwide targeting youth startups -- growing them into high-quality future companies. "Startup WM" aims to activate social contribution activities in the asset management area. It is expected to be greatly helpful to young CEOs who have no separate finance officer in the early stage of business and have little financial experience. IBK plans to continuously select and manage Dcamp-recommended companies, providing WM Center PB team leader asset management, tax consulting, Startup WM certificate, exchange rate discounts, and various other services to selected companies. The startup wealth management gap: early-stage startups focus entirely on product development and customer acquisition -- financial planning, tax optimization, and asset management are typically deferred until the company reaches Series B or later; but decisions made in the early stage (equity structure, founder compensation, IP ownership, international expansion tax planning) have compounding effects that are difficult to correct later; IBK providing professional financial advisory from inception addresses this gap and simultaneously builds the banking relationships that will become commercially significant as the startups scale.
