The Opportunity of K-Nuclear Renaissance Opening for Korea
The Moment to Leap as a Leading Nation of AI Industry New Paradigm
"AI Can Only Exist on Electrical Energy, and Nuclear Power Is the Solution That Can Stably Supply That Energy."

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has stated: "AI can only exist on electricity." AI industry growth is premised on enormous power demand -- beyond simple technological evolution, this requires an energy paradigm shift. The problem: absolute energy shortage could become the most fundamental bottleneck of AI growth. The nuclear renaissance: as this background becomes clear, the role of nuclear power generation is being re-examined in countries worldwide. Representative case -- Taiwan: pursuing AI supercomputer projects, Taiwan encountered severe power shortage and is comprehensively reviewing its previously pursued nuclear phase-out policy; a referendum is discussing restarting the Maanshan nuclear plant, and the political sphere passed a nuclear lifetime extension law. US tech companies: Amazon, Google, and Microsoft have all signed nuclear power purchase agreements for their data centers -- committed to clean and stable power supply. SMR (Small Modular Reactor): next-generation nuclear technology attracting particular attention -- smaller scale, factory manufacture, faster deployment, and lower per-unit cost; Bill Gates-backed TerraPower and NuScale are leading. Korea K-nuclear opportunity: Korea has world-class nuclear technology (APR-1400), design/construction/operation know-how, and price competitiveness -- as global demand for nuclear power construction accelerates, Korea nuclear export competitiveness is re-emerging. Countries pursuing AI data center expansion need reliable baseload power; nuclear provides the combination of high capacity, reliability, and low carbon emissions that renewable energy alone cannot deliver at scale.
